Waving frantically all too confident
Darting across only in an instance
And back again but not alone
How to explain such happenings
Apparitions so ‘alive’ so elusive
In the wee hours of the mornings
Playing tricks nebulous but active
Beware earthlings of ones untouched
Strange beings let loose found roaming
Invisible in most parts but were such
They teamed up waiting in the wings
Youngsters led astray not realizing
Ladies smothered left dead than alive
Soothsayers sounded early warnings
interesting..had to look this up... sometimes things happen that are not visible but will change the world in a way we would've never expected
ReplyDeleteeeep...two weeks from today....beware for sure if you are ceasar...but also if you happen to be one of the sacrifices to be made on that day as well....
ReplyDeleteThis is all new to me too! I had never heard of these 'strange beings let loose' before but I enjoyed the way you portrayed this phenomenon.
ReplyDeletegiven the news I read from Krim today ... I'm concerned about these invisible forces... really frightening.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, sometimes those near-invisible silhouettes can be a bit eerie. And...thanks for the heads up on the Ides of March, Hank!
ReplyDeleteInteresting play on the Shakespeare. Smiles. >KB
ReplyDeleteI never knew about this but thanks for the warning ~ Eerie play on those invisible forces ~
ReplyDeleteOh so well done Hank - one of your (many) best, I think.
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
Very eery, Hank. You wove your tale so well.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking to my bed for the Ides! Especially if they turn out the way you describe them! An eery read, as Sherry says!
ReplyDeleteChilling, and very well penned. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'll hide away like a hermit to avoid such a fate
ReplyDeleteSpooky! :)
ReplyDeletean eerie piece indeed. I would not care to cross paths with such apparitions.
ReplyDeleteHank, I had to read a bit on this ..interesting write for the prompt..
ReplyDeleteExcellent and so appropriate on this first day of March.
ReplyDeletehad to look up ides of march and read this over... glad I did, bcus I'm spooked now... eek
ReplyDeleteIt fall on 15 March this year; I just checked it out on google.
ReplyDeleteThe image of the silhouette is powerful, becoming very much so in relation with the last stanza. There is that feel of a Gothic horror novel in your words.. which I find amazing.

*I used to think that Ides occur on the 13th or 15th date of March, but reading about it just now revealed that it always falls on 15th of March. My bad! :-)
ReplyDeleteAh! I too had to look it up. It was a bit of eerie reading for me - though scary I must admit that I liked the uniqueness.
