noise of rain water

the 12 Wordle words:
yawn, stretch, smell, wash,
mirror dream, clever, self,
noise, rain, water, window

a yawn and a stretch
it had never felt this good
an earthly smell
of a cool morning
permeated the air
outlining freshness
of an early cool wash
to mirror a dream of satisfaction
of a clever self imposed exile

the noise of rain water
against the glass window
was incessant music
playing to early risers
to welcome a new day

A Rare Commodity - The Truth

                                                                          Author:Cranville-Smith, W., artist
Image:: The Truth Poster (1894) (here)

Spreading words of wisdom unwittingly
prodding on an undisturbed mind

Searching for truth within which is as
rare as shooting stars on starless nights

Unsettled bubbling ready to  wrap around
facts breaking the hold of untruths with
voices of reason lurking deep - for salvation

How they must have regretted it!

                                                                                  Author: anon

she’d had it sliced away leaving a scar -  Michael Donaghy,

The ever ubiquitous cell phone  handy, hot in her hands, being manipulated
and 'abused' but loved dearly never out of sight. How did they manage to
survive before she often wondered. It was not too long ago, her grandparents ,
parents even her elder broods how did they manage to sit around doing nothing
with nothing in their hands. What a boring existence!

They would have loved to be born later to be in my generation. How they must
have regretted it.. Right?  Wrong!

Grandma would gladly counter all of her insistence of the good life of the
younger generation. It is a make-believe world. She’d had it sliced away
leaving a scar. but not in grandma's case. She did everything herself. She
cooked did washings by hand planted flowers and vegetables. She did all
that and she still managed to keep her hands clean!

the 11 of 13 Wordle words:
glum pray spirits runs lost myths
willowy (tall, slim, and lithe)
bones trickling growling bird

Not feeling glum but pray it
was not just a casual encounter
Spared no efforts  to determine
his schedule packed with
activities was well taken care of

To uphold the spirits of strict
principles he blocked off certain
unnecessary runs of heavy traffic
bidding for his time

He was not lost to the myths
of strict office discipline
maintained by a willowy
Girl Friday with no
bones of contention key to
his time management

A fever pitched day was broken
up into trickling little sectors
to impose and maintain sanity
Too much 'growling' could result in
chapped lips pecking into
unnecessary bird-like tendencies

It was a lone battle

                                                                                     Author: Rodney Smith
Image: Blown Away to Bits (here)

What was she to do
It was a lone battle
Fuzzy and feeling blue
It was a big muddle

Love of her life
Had frittered away
Her being nose-dived
Much to her dismay

Generous in giving her all
Nurtured of good tidings
She felt rather small
All gone with the wind

She is more guarded now
In expending her feelings
Not the way she did before
Which left her reeling

giving credence to hoping against hope

                                                                                         Author: Dietmar Rabich
Image: Hoping for a Ray of Hope (here)

Sorted seen and seemingly oblivious
Of what outcome on unpaved lanes
Isn’t it out in the open, and pretty obvious
Wrought with sorrow and lots of pain!

Cast a blind eye and sadden with laughter
Regretfully betrayed in a web of intrigues
Wild flashes and staccato bursts of gunfire
Enemies within hidden but well in league

Such a delicate situation shouting out loud
Out there friends and enemies thinly disguised
Clearly giving credence to hoping against hope
To remain alert outwardly confident and wise

Suffice to survive on a limited stipend

                                                                                     Author: Unknown
Image:  Cover of sheet music for
"Good luck to our boys of the allies", by Morris Manley (here)

I thought of the future, and spoke of the past - Truman Capote,
Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Three Stories

I thought of the future, and spoke of the past.
Balanced aspiration in all fairness of class
To be happy but never to really succeed
Has life treated me badly that luck was a rare breed?

No, I have enough to come by
Though there were occasions I would cry
My wants might be limited
Confined to those that I had needed

More I would need to spend
Suffice to survive on a limited stipend
It would come a long way if able
I would desire to be more comfortable

Besides it would be something luxurious
Having more resources but not hilarious
But just able to give back to society
Not to the point of pockets being empty

frustrations entwined

Image:  Awaiting Commencement
of the Celebrations (here)

drab rainy night
pulsating cold weather
frustrations entwined
the mind's undone
but celebrations
waiting in line
youngsters expecting
fun in the morrow

not the right moment
ideal setting absent
save the cause of strength
they would fall into place later
with divine intervention

the fast lane that of a stuntman

                                                                                  Author: Русский: Вадим Кондратьев
Image: Stuntmen with their brand
of daredevil showmanship (here)

10 of the 12 given Wordle words:
child, eye, bared claims gently settling,
music touched, lies forgotten

Taking cautionary child steps but not slowing down
An eye to anticipate vicious corners and sharp bends
Bared but nothing wild and not to take to heart
No negative claims expected grovelling in the mud

Wanting an assurance gently of an impression
Would  not be lighting fires without reasons
Rather living the fast lane that of a stuntman
But settling reassured if caught in tight situations

'Fasten the seat belts' a good escape clause
Music to the ears to feel confident to a cause
No lies but brave bravado to stifle opposition
Lest good upbringing and manners are forgotten

Touched with no shooting stars likely to appear
If carefully nurtured to face up against the fears

that time stood still

                                                                                 Author: Ananian
Image: Think of your Good fortune
Let's not go 'bananas' over it (here)

He stood there thinking
with a twisted smile
Food for your thought!

What could be wandering
In his mind that time stood still
What could he be pondering
That he stood there waiting
In his young mind
Untested with ways of the world

Thinking of one so dear
No, she hurt his feelings
He managed to get out fast
A sheepish smile of a jilted lover
A triumphant smile though

Not too bad!
Luck did not desert him
Won the sympathies of a rich widow
The underlying reason
He managed somehow

What could it be now?
His mind on overtime mode

Myriads of possibilities
A young mind so free
Minding his own business
‘What Me Worry’
No one to care and no one to bother
Time to work on his good fortune

A rich widow
The proverbial rich widow

The right time to work on his dreams!
No, he is not a gold-digger
Rightly perhaps a gold-seeker!
