The joys of one who frequently forgets
The joys of one who muse and reflects
Give me the aged and the retiree
Give me one soul that is being so happy
Chorus:
Happy as happy as one can be
Sedentary living without worry
I see my gramps alone quietly sitting
I see my gramps alone quietly reading
Give me one who enjoys quiet moments
Give me one neither talks nor reprimands
Chorus:
Happy as happy as one can be
Sedentary living without worry
The joys of one often caught smiling
All by himself without really realizing
Give me one who smiles surfing the ‘Net
Give me one who is among friends he likes
Chorus:
Happy as happy as one can be
Sedentary living without worry
Note: I have a
funny feeling (or is it a nagging suspicion) that I’m often
being observed by my grandchildren smiling or laughing
alone while surfing.
All long as they don’t think I’ve gone bonkers it should
be ok!
Gay is having us write song lyrics at d’Verse Meeting the Bar.
Not well versed on the technicalities but I should think it can read
like a rhyming poetry with even a chorus thrown in.

Ha, Hank, it would be interesting to know what one's grandchildren think as they observe! If they see you as happy, you can't do much better than that. Smiles!
ReplyDeleteThis is cute Hank. Glad your grandkids can see you smiling and happy. The song is really upbeat, makes me happy too.
ReplyDeleteI hope I am smiling till the end. Sounds like you are in a good place.
ReplyDeletehaha well at least they see you happy as can be. Not bad to be seen a little crazy
ReplyDeleteI love it Hank ~ I like the perspective from the grandkids looking at you happily surfing and blogging :-)

ReplyDeleteIndeed... funny.. wonder what anyone would think ... why not do it on instagram
ReplyDeleteI liked this. It makes me smile too. No worries, the grandkids (if they're like mine) are on phones or tablets and have their own grins "going on". Cool song.
ReplyDeleteYou gave a nice picture of the golden years - serene and happy. :-) No wonder your grandkids would love to watch you.
ReplyDeleteI am retired and alone, at times life is NOT happy.
ReplyDeleteI did so enjoy your post thought provoking.
Yvonne.
Hank, I am alone quite a lot, as Lex tends the church. I think there is something to be said for the person who enjoys his/her own company! It's when I get my real inspiration... sitting alone and catching words as they fly by. Loved this, glad to be back, and thanks for putting up with my absences! Peace, Amelita
ReplyDeleteA great write and it is very nice song
