Should one so popular a better take

I am of two minds this morning
Confusing a little but enlightening
What am I to do that my mind lingers
With questions begging for answers

Choices there are aplenty to seek
Setting in motion to take a peek
Should one so popular a better take
Those already resolved of mistakes

I took the one less traveled by
More challenging that mystifies
That should make all the difference
To test the resolve of a person

On hindsight is it not lots of pain
A folly to reinvent the wheel again
Is it fun and games just to satisfy
A curiosity that unjustly might crucify

Inspired by Robert Frost's
-  the road not taken

  5. So many times in my life the words of Frost have come to me. I like the viewpoint you brought to this evergreen theme.

  7. Sometimes we just have to take the pick and hope for the best, hindsight is always 20/20

  8. Interesting take on the original.... and you're right: taking the road less traveled by does often test the resolve of the person!

  10. The engineer's dread, of having to invent the wheel again. Big waste of time. But if it's a road that one has not personally explored it may be well worth the discovery process.

p.s. How many optometrists does it take to change a light bulb?
Terrible, this angst. I think the length is quite right in that the source of the anxiety is not named. We must feel that the person has a phobia or else there is something major to be worrying about. Nice write, keeping us searching, wonderment?

  11. Regrets...we all have them. I guess that are harsher when we can't wipe their dust because the road we chose didn't lead us where we wished.
