Prompts:
1. Sunday Whirligig's 12 given words:
echoes softness blind body scent bent
birds shade empty snare crown mirrors
2. 3WW given words:
tasteful selfish realistic
3. d'Verse's with Naomi's two lines:
Where there was something and suddenly isn’t,
That sizzle like moth wings
Shrill echoes permeated the cool air of morn
Empty of softness reflecting against closed windows
Blind to the body scent of predators lying in wait
Bent on the two birds in shades of grey
Empty of ideas to lay a snare
The predators nonchalantly smacked their lips
Though tasteful of their selfish endeavors
They were being realistic in their contention
They yearned for the jewels in the crown
Yet contrary to their belief, they faltered
Where there was something and suddenly isn’t,
The two birds in shades of grey
Mirrors of each other
That sizzle like moth wings
Gone from their perch
The predators continued with smacking
their now still empty lips
Lying in wait just like before!

I'm captivated by the repetition in this poem. A great piece of work.
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is truly enchanting :D
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the lines! Enjoyed a lot!
ReplyDeleteNature sure has a way or making everything prey.
ReplyDeletethis is nature
ReplyDeleteHank, you have worked the line in expertly!
ReplyDeleteThose birds of prey... like a shadowed doom they come... great use of the words and the sentence.
ReplyDeleteThe last stanza is a brilliant summation to the piece.
ReplyDeleteQuite the conglomeration of thoughts, all into a coherent bit of worded wonder! Nicely done, Hank!
ReplyDeleteWhen one anticipates for too long rather than acting, dinner gets away!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this very much. :-)

Predators never seem to get enough. Poor birds.
ReplyDeleteAh, you handled three challenges beautifully, Hank!! a pleasure to read. Cheryl-Lynn
ReplyDeleteI love the lull and flow in this Hank - like nature and life - but also a fairy tale - curiously maybe!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the lines Hank ~ Cheers ~
ReplyDeletePhew, relieved they got away! What a clever interweaving of no less than three prompts - you must have spent ages working it out.
