Sunday Whirligig's 11 of 12 given words:
wilderness, praise counsel north, city darkness
enemy thanks hungry, thirsty works
3WW given words:
naked obey piercing
Contemplating good fortune in the wilderness
Quiet undisturbed, life stood still for long moments
No noise pollution dusty air swirling, traffic madness
Praise be for good counsel collectively sound
North city lights piercing the darkness unrelenting
Enemy within unperturbed to obey base tendencies
Naked in their desire to unsettle those citizens law-abiding
The essence of existence of robbers and thieves
Country surroundings however could not be all heavenly
Some pushed down through poverty striving to survive
Thanks to adverse occasions they could go hungry and thirsty
To each his own for the way it worked, realities in life
For MMT's Sunday Whirligig #49
Thomg's 3WW week 469 and
ABHRA's at d'Verse's OpenLink Night
I'll live in the first stanza please :)
ReplyDeleteWe do idolize the countryside indeed.. Poverty could be there, even if we enjoy the fresh air.
ReplyDelete"Thanks to adverse occasions they could go hungry and thirsty

I second that Hank...have a good weekend.
I do love the countryside -- love the photo you used here. But you are right....the country side can also hide poverty and the harsher things, when we look ideally, that we do not see.
ReplyDeleteCountry surroundings however could not be all heavenly
ReplyDeleteSome pushed down through poverty striving to survive
That's painfully true.. powerfully written Hank.
Lots of love,
Sanaa
Sounds like a good place to be, specially after a stressful week Hank ~
ReplyDeleteI suppose there are pros and cons to all aspects of life and locations, right?
ReplyDeleteHank, this is a reminder that it is your turn at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai with the Haiku no Renga that we're doing.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good point that the countryside is not all bright and easy - to live on the land is hard work and quite different from taking a trip for a day to enjoy it..
ReplyDeleteThere can be stuff in the country that is well hidden indeed.
ReplyDeleteWe never know what lurks in the wilderness good-or bad so true Hank.
ReplyDeletesMiLes.. it was often
ReplyDeletethought that wolves
were thieves.. but truly
all they were doing
was sharing
the spoils
of
collecting
what was alWays free..
hmm.. God is a Wolf
in
sheep's
clothing
when imprisoned
as anything less than free..:)
