the 12 given words:
silently, glide, straight spark traits signal peeking silhouette happens
hobbits (a fictional, diminutive, humanoid race in J.R Tolkien’s fiction)
alligator fizzle
silently gliding up straight
to spark off challenging traits
a signal to the rest of the world
that magnificent pieces of jewels
are there in the making
may just mildly peeking
or in a boisterous show of force
in a rat race killing off
even the slightest silhouette
of competition felt
it happens everywhere everytime
where hobbits or human-kind
stake out rivalry outright and apparent
or seemingly meek and innocent
where greed and power
of that of a hungry alligator
will seek to impose their will
not to fizzle off easily to fulfill
the rogue in human failings
despite Providence's blessings

Gripped by the opening line and then so many images of fight ending in despite "Providence's blessings" - as if it had been there all along, as a possibility. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteSociety is becoming more selfish. Profound thoughts in poem!

ReplyDeleteYvonne.
The rat race sure all comes back to it as greed wins out
ReplyDeleteA whimsical poem today!
ReplyDeleteMay hobbits and humans find peace together.
ReplyDeleteNice phrase: "killing off
ReplyDeleteeven the slightest silhouette"
That hungry alligator always wants to impose its will - that's what crony capitalism is today. Nicely penned.
