The Prose
I am not pint-sized to be easily
shoved into a sleeping-bag
I am big enough to be discernible
from a distance, attractive enough
to be desirable but why all this?
Marooned on a lonely unlit highway
subject to the vagaries of an
unimaginable cold spell and a windy
and notoriously unfriendly weather
I must act octopus-like fist flying
to attract attention a lone wastrel
condemned to nothingness just
starting my wanderjahr on the road
I am breathless. I must cease
running weather permitting or
otherwise, I have to stop!
Hi, men-folks, you don't need a
metal-detector to start the chase
I am a warm blooded mammal!
The Haiku
prayers are answered
lights blazing from the distance
divine privilege

ReplyDeleteOh, that is quite a political statement in there. I really liked how you course through the thoughts and create this powerful image which is at once sexy but sarcastic as well.
