the 10 of 12 given words:
limbo rattle images pit fold
ring safe nowhere pill shell
In a limbo appearing rather lost
May rattle faint hearts to no end
Avoid images of horror at all cost
With a view to make amends
Pit one's confidence against adversities
Not to fold meekly under mild distractions
Ring safe in one's domains quite simply
Nowhere does it say to remain silent
Swallow a bitter pill so what of it
Shell out intelligent rebuttals to show resilience
It doesn't matter if it hurts a wee bit
Life is more fun to invoke a good response

Any life learning involves pain, it seems. Well said, Hank.
ReplyDeleteI like your last verse best. I'm thinking hurt to be pain. But sure, more things with us than body parts can hurt. Like feelings.

I guess it's a case of 'keep taking the medicine' - bitter pill or not! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifully eloquent, Hank!
ReplyDeleteWe have great blue herons where we live— it matters if you are a frog! Ha! But a wonderful premise to the poem here— pain is a byproduct of life it seems. Thanks. K .
ReplyDeleteI used to live on a street named Blue Herron, and the great Blue Herron's used to sit on my porch and peek into my windows. I miss them.
ReplyDeleteLuv that sharpe message of hope resonanting throughout Hank

ReplyDeleteExcellent wisdom, Hank
ReplyDeleteLife is a medicine we have to take Hank, bitter pills and all. But I guess that's how we learn, and I don't mind that.
