Image: A Charming Lady (here)Nice to be growing old gracefully
It's a breeze to be allowed priority
Seats offered taken with a smile
Abundance of presents on the lap piled
Would they really bother if we were senile
Not on your life for we accepted them in style
(44 words)
For Bjorn's Quardrille 10 at d'Verse
and to include the word 'breeze'
Always lovely to get an abundance of presents!!!! Much to savour as age creeps in...
ReplyDeletea charming upbeat view of growing old in this rhythm
ReplyDeleteWonderful sentiment Hank. Growing older has it's advantages but sad to say also disadvantages, but it's how one handles those disadvantages that is the secret.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Love this. The photograph looks like a rather cheeky old lady who is thoroughly enjoying her senior years!
ReplyDeleteTaking advantage of the perks can be good for any age

I so wonder if that priority is really given... maybe it's a set of disappointments.
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely some pluses to getting older, though I'm not sure that there is as much courtesy toward the elder as there used to be. Now, I AM sounding old. Finally got a quadrille up:

I hope some respect remains for the elderly. I feel like I'm getting closer to finding out. I love your charming lady up there..so many stories in those eyes.
ReplyDeleteI love the phrasing of the title, especially.
ReplyDeleteHa, well said!
ReplyDeleteI hope not for senility for the graceful aging with lots of presents, smiles ~
ReplyDeleteLet's hope we can all age gracefully, and be treated with due respect even if we don't.
