Yes Y.E.S Year End Sales
Setting the mood grabbing in bales
Traditional motivation to ensnare
For them seemingly unaware
The gullible year in year out
Who seem to enjoy the rout
Of being taken for a ride
But announcing to friends with pride
Dubbed ‘Christmas sale’ all around
Ostensibly at outrageous discounts
In reality offerings of items
That ran out of fashion
Which were no more then in demand
Items readily to be rid off
Rather than suffer total loss
Why not put them ‘on offer’ all plain
Made them think they had a bargain
Happily laughing
And not realizing
They were duped
Absolute!
Absolute! I like to shop at thrift shops.
ReplyDeleteTruer words never spoken. All they do is dupe people. As they save more money by selling them "cheap" than having to count them as inventory and have them on the books at the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteYou don't save a dime by buying things you don't need.
ReplyDeleteYour poetry always offers an interesting angle on your chosen topics. This is very apt for the season.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem Hank ....and with a hidden message about not to buy things one don't really require, Well done.
