Trapped with his eloquence

                                                                                          Author: Eddie Green

The given words:
maverick nimble march cadence
eel turf waxen goad hew vise

Maverick of his own making
Nimble as a young gibbon
From tree to tree swinging
Marching on in confidence

Smooth talker in cadence
Slippery as an eel on turf
Waxen for quick appearance
Goaded for a kill for love

Irresistible to innocents
Who were hewed big time
Into a vise grip unopened
Trapped with his eloquence

Ladies won devoid of a ploy
Deserting their man willingly
Under the spell of a playboy
They succumbed unwittingly

  3. Actually I've known two of these when I was much, much younger. I've lost track of both now. Your vise grip brought two images. I believe you meant a bench vice and not the tool, 'vice grip'. It flows nicely Hank, I had my eye on him all the time, for sure not envying his tactics.

    1. I think the tool was a 'vise grip', sorry I didn't mean it be a pun.

    2. Yes, I went to the on-line dictionary to check. There was a bench 'vice' and a tool 'vise'. Thanks Dr Jim!

      Hank.

  11. What a vise! Just the thing to help bored ladies lose their wits--unless a good friend extracts them. Fun.
