Misconstrued Insanity

Case of misconstrued insanity
Could he be faulted for a time
Lingering in throes of secrecy
Not really worth a dime

He searched his conscience
He thought he had it made
Sweetie Pie, he even gave a name
But she would rather have him dead

What did he do wrong
Whispering sweet nothings?
Choice of words all along
Not open to feigning

But he was not about to give up
Faint heart given a nudge
Plodding on would be smart
Time would be the judge

  5. Great rhythm in this one. I especially liked this stanza:

    "He searched his conscience
He thought he had it made
Sweetie Pie, he even gave a name
But she would rather have him dead"

    Greetings from London.
