passing under the
leafy willows
of a street of
temples
an evening of rain
drab and dragging a day of
silence with no signs of life
passing under the
leafy willows
of a street of
temples
an evening of rain
quiet respite of solace
in the offing for many
passing under the
leafy willows
of a street of
temples
an evening of rain
where it is not to dampen
spirits of those wanting fun
Note: Somehow I'm taken with the demure quiet, surrounding the haiku and
decided to create 3 Tan Renga

ReplyDeleteFYI your streak is now 35 in a row. I checked my spam today and you were there. That one on the 24th puts you in front of John.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Pat! That is true! You know what happened! I got in at 7.00am But when I clicked again mine wasn't there. Instead there was John's and it registered 7.02am. I was terribly disappointed. You see I had accessed you from outstation using another computer. That could be the reason.I didn't make a fuss about it not knowing then why it happened that way! But I was disappointed.
DeleteI've gone back a few minutes ago to your July 24, 2013 posting and honest to goodness you CORRECTED it! My gosh, Pat, I raise my hat to you,Sir! That's most gentlemanly of you! I really appreciate it! I'll make a notation at my post 1) for record purposes and 2) to register the exhilaration of a 35 continuous streak.
On hindsight I should have alerted you immediately and you would be able to check there and then and corrected it. But it didn't cross my mind to do that then. But it's just amazing you had corrected it today. I wonder what prompted you to check it out of the blue!
Thanks once again Pat for alerting me! It gives a great feeling, a really great feeling!

Glad it was found and the truth came out. I just decided to look and you were in there with that one and a few from Grace.
DeleteOne of my favorites of yours, Hank. I LOVE the repeated lines occurring in each stanza........really beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry! I thought repeating it makes the presentation better!

Awesome Hank. Every time as I publish a Tan Renga Challenge you come up with more then one completions and these are all marvelous. Thank you for your effort and sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kris! It's too good to pass off with just one. So I thought 3 at one shot is more satisfying!

...excellent Hank... your Tan Renga has both calming & sad quality to it... and then your pull at the end gives a mystical feel as if Titania was there sharing romance with Pan... so much to conceive from a weeping willow... loved this... smiles...
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelvin! Contrasting situations help pull off a better shot, I guess!

Hank, this is beautiful writing. I understand the form better after your comments... loved the three ways the rainy day is viewed, and the weeping willow is my favorite tree. Do you know the old jazz song, "Willow, Weep For Me"? It's mournful and gorgeous. Love you, Amelita
ReplyDeleteYes Ma'am, I went to YouTube. Very sentimental and moving - mournful too! One can expect that from Frank Sinatra. There were a number of other singers as well including the husky voiced Diana Krall. Thanks Amelita!
