Discarded
Abandoned sofa
Vagaries of the weather
Lashed heaven’s fury
Smacked the ungrateful
Wild times or relaxation
Conveniently lapsed
Secrets abundance
Speak and reveal I will not
Was wild and vicious!

Nice...I especially like the last stanza...wild and vicious...!
ReplyDeleteHank, I like this match of image and picture - especially the memories of what may have passed upon the sofa... but the last two lines, perhaps a typo? Check it out and let me know, because I don't want to waste a great first impression! Thanks, Amy

abandoned furniture...i am sure it has many a story to tell if only it could share with us who it once held..
ReplyDeleteOh, if furniture could speak - wouldn't our homes become noisy? :)
ReplyDeleteGreat thoughts from the couch. If only they could remember.
ReplyDeleteYou can't blame it, having been sat on all its life.
ReplyDeletei must agree with Miss Tess. That last line is vicious...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead Pareng Hank!

Must feel reborn having it's life inflated once more, with no one sitting on it and sucking the air from it's grasp. That is if it could talk, but somehow it took a walk and got free. Yep, enough out of me.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, challenging take on the prompt...
ReplyDeleteahh, yes... those couch secrets can be very dirty...
ReplyDeleteYou gave voice to the sofa.
ReplyDeleteSsh! It a secret, eh?!
ReplyDeletenice dig on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent mag!
ReplyDeleteA most unusual subject but none the less good to read. I once wrote about a common garden pea.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Hank, nice, the air of mystery to it. Concise piece.

I like how you brought in the "vagaries of the weather" in the first stanza and then used "wild and vicious" at the end. Very atmospheric magpie.
