But we can't go on meeting this way

I want to be with you
Why?
You are wise of regal silence and of fierce intelligence
Accepted and you are known for your intelligence and adaptability
We are made for each other
But we can't go on meeting this way
Why?

I'm nocturnally adapted
Don't worry no one is going to take potshots at us
But where is everybody?
Lockdown!

The virus will not be dangerous?
We are safe
Why?
We maintain social distance!

  1. Think humans like these fence sitters are trying to figure out the logistics of ‘hooking up.’

  2. Ah, the joy of lockdown for the birds and tiny animals of the fields. :) Had to laugh at the "nocturnally adapted"...very familiar relationship quibble.

  4. Oh, I long for the day I don't have to be socially distanced, but until it arrives I keep my distance.

  7. Hank, I see a Wise Owl who knows best, but excuses arent working well.
What could you get mating an owl and a crow? I don't know and didn't concern myself until I read your perhaps metaphorical verse tonight. If I weren't mostly confined no I would ask around
