How was he to explain

Misplaced his bunch of keys
He was in a rush
His shoes were in the house
Slipped on the old slippers
How was he to explain
He had arranged to meet
To share a love so sincere
Could picture the slender pair of legs
Birds in the air gave him an idea
Bring some flowers!

  22. This is beautiful, touching. And it's broad enough for the reader to bring something to the meaning. For me, it makes me think of a dear, older man with a bit of dementia going to meet his long-dead wife. Though the breathless love of youth is in there too.

  28. Hank,

I've often had a dreaded panic, that I may have locked myself outside my front door; old indoor shoes and probably not dressed for an evening outside. the pressures of multi-tasking!!
