What to make of it
Image: Courtesy of MLMM (here)
What to make of it
When the air is filled with balloons
Each with an enclosed secret within
Blown stretched and bloated
Charting its own destination
Upwards skywards not knowing
Perhaps not bothered
Perhaps lost
What to make of it
Man and his dreams
Gathered around him
All in colored euphoria
Has he not been thinking
To color his life having fun
Instead of being cooped up
alone in the room
What to make of it
Perhaps to stimulate better thinking
With lots of balloons around his head
Perhaps some brilliant ideas might pop up
Is it a desire or is it a craving
Or just a lucky break awaited for
For Marian's hosting at The
Tuesday Platform at Real Toads and
MLMM's Photo Challenge #70 - balloons

He needs to pop some of those balloons and chase some dreams. Well done, Hank.
ReplyDeleteLove them balloons!! This goes well with a balloon poem I wrote some time ago: https://thotpurge.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/breathless/ :)
ReplyDeleteNeed to get out a pin and pop a few taking the ideas for a spin.
ReplyDeleteWell done Hank on a most enlightening poem, the message coming over very well.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Unexpectedly delightful - I loved this.
ReplyDeleteI kept waiting for the word POP but not as in ideas popping up.
ReplyDeleteLove this! It flows so well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they reminded him of a birthday party he'd been hoping for when he was a kid.
ReplyDeleteHi Hank
Hank, I love this one~ And your ending is smashing~ Bravo
ReplyDeleteVery true, so many thoughts and reams doing the rounds!
ReplyDeletequite intriguing. my ideas pop up like balloons.
ReplyDeletegracias
Couldn't we use a lucky break? Or is it going to be a pop? This is really intriguing.
ReplyDeleteLoved the closing lines :D such a wonderful poem :D
ReplyDeletelovely. reminded me of an incident when a glider caught a balloon floating in the sky, later popping it to find a letter from a child to her dead pet in heaven. your poem floats before the finding out. i like that.
ReplyDeleteOh we need better thinking..thinking on what is good, what we can do in our little corner of the world to bring unity, peace. Beautiful poem!
ReplyDeleteI love the symbolism you have used in defining the relevance of the balloons!
