ReplyDeleteI say it the first way
ReplyDeleteThe second isn't for me at my bay
But I guess both are sight
And as always your art sure takes flight
Nicely done
Almost number one
Nice. I love tomatoes :) You sketch well. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is utterly cute. I am soooo jealous, that you draw. I'm trying to learn.

Thanks Ma'am. And yes, tomatoes are nice
MYRNA
Do it Ma'am. Pastel is the easiest. Just rub to smoothen the colors and you are on.

Wow, Hank, you are a good artist. (with paints as well as with words) Now I know where your grandson gets HIS talent!!
ReplyDeleteUncle Hank,
ReplyDeleteAahhh...ode for a tomato? I prefer tamarillo. Look out for the fruit the next you travel in Sumatera. Popular for juice....
Now, back to the tomato, is it a vegetable or a fruit? purrr....meow!
Nice sketch Hank ~ And I do love tomatoes ~
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sketch, your poem made me long for tomatoes but sadly they give me migraines.
ReplyDeleteI say to-may-to, and love them every conceivable way: raw, fried, saucy, and in both your poem and drawing. Nice one, Hank.
ReplyDeleteLove the drawings, I am growing tomatoes at present... hope they look as good as your drawings nice poem too!
ReplyDeleteExcellent.
ReplyDeleteBrought wealth to Campbell’s cracked me up!
Your words made me smile, and that sketch made me say "wow!"
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh with this one, Hank, and the sketch is just amazing--you really catch the light well with your medium.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting collections of thoughts on tomatoes.... And I agree, Campbells probbaly got way too rich off of them! My favorite reference to tomatos ever, of course, is in your first verse! Louis Armstrong:
ReplyDeleteYou say eether and I say eyether,
You say neether and I say nyther,
Eether, eyether, neether, nyther,
Let's call the whole thing off!
You like potato and I like potahto,
You like tomato and I like tomahto,
Potato, potahto, tomato, tomahto!
Let's call the whole thing off!
But oh! If we call the whole thing off,
Then we must part.
And oh! If we ever part,
Then that might break my heart!
So, if you like pajamas and I like pajahmas,
I'll wear pajamas and give up pajahmas.
For we know we need each other,
So we better call the calling off off.
Let's call the whole thing off!
Excellent sketch and excellent commentary re tomato...
ReplyDeleteLove those lovely red things bar tomato soup...
