  1. is there any significance to the bridge walk? you have me wondering...bridges are pretty cool though...sounds like a rather long one...the one to the keys is brutally long...pretty good distance for a walk...

    1. It being an annual event for Labor Day celebrations apparently. From google images (under copyright)of the MDOT (Mackinac Department of Transport)it appeared to be a leisurely walk ie not a competition of any kind. Any kind soul from the Great Lakes area can help us here. I would like to know myself too! Thanks Brian!

  2. Wow looks like one very long bridge
Would be interesting to walk across it
Must have some point from going to ridge to ridge
Either way the daily exercise is surely hit

    1. The bridge seems a logical thing
The 2 peninsulas it did connect
If on it one does a bit of running
It's quite a distance for impact

    1. Oh yes! It's awesome. Was at NY's Brooklyn and Frisco's Golden Gate once before. Suddenly man appears so small!

  7. I love bridges - especially awesome long ones or high ones - my favorites are those that climbing very steeply upward and you can see through the steel grating down to the water! Never been on the Mackinac but it looks like an awesome bridge, especially if it's five miles long!
