its Beauty Eventually (here)
in The Sun Also Rises (1926)
Case of misconstrued insanity
Could he be faulted for a time
Lingering in throes of secrecy
Not really worth a dime
He searched his conscience
He thought he had it made
Sweetie Pie, he even gave a name
But she would rather have him dead
What did he do wrong
Whispering sweet nothings?
Choice of words all along
Not open to feigning
But he was not about to give up
Faint heart given a nudge
Plodding on would be smart
Time would be the judge
Jade at d'Verse Poetics - One true Sentence
Plod on then; time will tell ultimately.
ReplyDeleteTime is the true decider and eventually we know the truth. Quite a story you weave here, and with such innovative imagery. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel for this character who wouldn't give up on a dream of love, for better or worse!
ReplyDeleteOnly time will tell! This is absolutely stellar, Hank!💝
ReplyDeleteDear Hank ~~~ time always tells! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteIndeed... plodding on is the best we can do.
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe he's just the kind of guy who likes a challenge! Enjoyable read :-)
