A fellow was planning to wed
A lass who was playing hard to get
Try as he might
All that he had
Excepting him the rest she grabbed

There are foods I won’t touch on a bet
Sensational, exotic or whatever you get
Taste is my bother
It affects no other
But I enjoy food the way it is prepared

A fellow who tried to persuade
A charming lady who had it made
That he’s God’s gift
But hard to believe
Quick exit he did and to just fade

A gal in an overpriced store
Is a show off and just a bore
Hopes to ensnare
But gets nowhere
Not getting what she hopes for

  1. All were fun
    And really well done
    Not sure some would agree
    Like the lady
    Who failed a ton

  3. Oh, my dear Hank, I love how you keep trying limericks, and I love your ideas, but you really have to get the rhyme and the meter right.
First and second lines rhyme, each with eight syllables.
Third and fourth lines rhyme, each with four, five, or six syllables, but both must have the same number.
Last line rhymes with first two, with eight syllables.

I know you enjoy writing limericks, so that's why I keep nagging at you about getting it right, my friend. LOL
    All best wishes, K

    Thank you Bren!

    Limerick is a challenge
    The punch line is vital
    Tinge of humor necessary
Not sure I got them all

Lima beans? We don't have them here. Not tasted them.I should try if I get the chance!

  5. Kay,
Gosh, Got to discipline the thinking, really! The punch-line and humor are both vital. If I can match rhyme and meter with them it would be ideal. Would have to start with the syllable count for a start. That would at least help to meet the rhyme and meter at some places. Thanks for the tip, Ma'am!
