11 of 12 given words:
berserk brisk bleak breast breakthrough bottomless
borrow bloodshot because billow breeze
they would have gone berserk
if not for leisurely but brisk walking
would have been an endeavour so bleak
but to breast, the tape winning
a breakthrough nevertheless
it was discovered purely by chance
the damage was kind of bottomless
to borrow a description for a dunce
with bloodshot eyes red with anger
at plastics and debris in dead tummies
because climate change was a danger
to mankind forgetting the release
also of noxious fumes unseen and unfelt
but billowing waving in the breeze
still awareness was given a push away
a smile of guilt but just a lip service

ReplyDeleteYes, we push away the uncomfortable knowledge. Plastic is the bane of the earth, one of the worst inventions. And sadly it is everywhere, including inside animals' and birds bodies. And ours.
ReplyDeletePlastics sure are everywhere. Yep, humans created the mess, every time.
ReplyDeleteYeah lip service...thats the sad situation...
ReplyDeleteWe are all responsible... and we can all do small acts to stop it.
ReplyDeleteA most thoughtful poem Hank, a pleasure to read as always.
