a skill in 'a push and a pull' system

                                                                                              Author Charlesjsharp
Image:  Black-headed weaver male
(Ploceus cucullatus) in the act of
nest building (here)

the 12 given words:
eggs skin listen muffle pit pry
close push clay whistle yard touch

maturity of the eggs
abundantly clear under the skin
listen to the muffled sounds

a logical signal for action
the male bird to pit its prowess
in a 'pry open or close' strategy
a skill in 'a push and a pull' system
a natural phenomenon
even for a first-time 'daddy male'

unlike a clay-pigeon in a shooting
contest that could just fly past
it was serious business

in unison with other proud males
in no time whistles of pride filled the air
the backyard alive with a chorus of songs
perhaps upon their completion

what a touch of class!

  2. I notice how the birds are beginning to nest. You have to claim your part of the wood.
