'Whenever possible keep it simple'
(inspired by above quotation
from a Fortune Cookie)

Whether one ever got entangled in polemics
Each contending theirs were a lot better
All impatiently looking for that quick fix
Problem solving solution vainly wished for

Beating around the bush a costly mistake
Mistaken belief quantity was better than quality
Wouldn't be long before exposed as fakes
In the process quality time was wasted sadly

Invariably a smart guy would make a declaration
'Enough had been said at this marathon meeting'
Going back to basics was of prime consideration
'Let's wrap it up and hopefully resolve everything'

Irrelevance took time and just could not be helped
Should 'keep it simple sanely' K.I.S.S as a guide
There would be fast moving run of things perhaps
Or K.I.S.S 'keep it simple, stupid!' was better yet

  1. You summed up most meetings well! They are often hours of time wasted accomplishing what could have been done in five minutes.

  3. Yes, sometimes we do need to remember to get back to basics indeed. And, ha, I remember that K.I.S.S. Makes sense to me!

  4. Yep, meetings are a complete waste of time for 99% of them.

  5. Working for the VA, as a special Ed teacher, meetings were a daily waste of breath & time, even meetings to plan other meetings; K.I.S.S. would have been, should have been our mantra; nice take on the prompt, Hank.

  10. I couldn't help but think of the political scene here. One of the best things about retirement is not having to go to meeting. K.I.S.S.

  13. SMiLes.. earlier
    humans invent
    letters to collect
    wisdom.. then
    they invent
    spears
    to kill
    friends..
    then cars
    and bikes
    instead
    of walKing
    and now
    they sit..
    sTill..
    and
    rarely
    move..
    yeah..
    it's better
    to walk
    than
    run..
    as running
    is for fears..
    sitting still
    is for
    giving
    up.. and
    walKing
    iS yes..
    KinG
    of prey
    and predator
    when invisible
    of course.. yes..
    it can be complicated
    finding a simple way back..
to an invisible K.I.S. S. oF walKinG..

    I like your fortune piece.
Thought the last two cookies (the last two times) we had take-out in- my cookies were empty...

    But I'm still smiling :)

One needs to not rely on generalized statements for happiness.
One needs take joy from all simple things ;)
