A Haiku for Real Toads
Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas to all Toads
Hail to Yuletide cheer!

A Kyrielle Sonnet for Christmas
A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines . It comprises three rhyming quatrain
stanzas and a couplet. Just like the traditional Kyrielle, the Kyrielle Sonnet
also has a repeating line as a refrain. It appears as the last line of each
stanza. I've maintained within each line the eight syllables.
The rhyming scheme is AabB ccbB ddbB AB

Wishing everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Drive safely!

A            Bright star surveying down below
a             Colorful lights and mistletoe
b             Stand below it,‘care for a kiss’
B            Hail to the Yuletide cheer and more

c             Standing a pine tree green and lean
c             From Wal Mart gramps carried it in
b            Tinsel swaying in a slight breeze
B            Hail to the Yuletide cheer and more

d             Santa sneaks in with the presents
d             Demands from young hearts more brazen
b             Expensive items are their wish
B            Hail to the Yuletide cheer and more

A             Parents relent expenses soar
B             Merry Christmas Happy New Year

Note: I had no place to link the above Kyrielle which I had written earlier.
I'll make it legit by linking it with a hurriedly done haiku at Real Toads

  1. Both poems convey very apt thoughts for Christmas day. Your Kyrielle sonnet involved a lot of skill. Well done and thank you for sharing!

  14. Oh Gee, Hank, you reminded me here that I completely forgot to pick some mistletoe for hanging this year. It grows on trees around, just need to pack my ladder over there.
I fudged on the haiku, mine is 10-10-10-10 [:)].
