In the run-up to the impending festivities
Of keeping the wonderful Christmas spirits alive
The flickering lights swaying in slight breeze
The ever ubiquitous colorful candles do survive
Since times in memory of long days past
More than anything else in faraway abodes
Never had candle-lights been appreciated to last
Where not connected to lighting modes
A partner in illuminating life’s restricted moves
Of groping in the dark as a consequence otherwise
Offering security and reassurance lest darkness
Creates feelings of bodily fright lurking nights
‘Let there be light’ blessings to the good souls
The assurance of Providence to all and sundry
It is a right to all living things extended so bold
Goodness of life’s existence is plain to see
