Grass

Failed Satisfaction

The grass is greener

Forever on the other side

Man’s wants and man’s desires

As wide as the expansive cosmos

Spanning the universe

Is never satisfied

There’s also the weed

Snorted by the wayward

Who succumbed to base tendencies

Lining back-lanes and winding streets

Unkempt and devoid of directions

There's Seranggoon, cow or Bermuda

From fairway to greens

The one-time Tiger’s lair

Now Rory’s making the scene

Inspired by Poets United, Thursday Think Tank # 59 with prompt 'Grass'

  8. Nice. A fine poem, in fact. Very organic, I thought, the construction helpful to the thought. I enjoyed it very much.

  10. I rarely see the green of the fairways or on the manicured greens; however, I have found a lot of golf balls among the trees while looking for mine. It’s shady there too.

  11. It's nice to see other names on the roster. My only problem with golf courses is when they decide to bulldoze a precious wetland area to make room for a new one, but that's a small quibble. This take on "Grass" was truly original! Congrats on a great poem. Amy
