to survive as much as being human

this being human is a given
it gnaws at a mother's instinct
in the family way not that often
but she is given the way to think

wonders of creations of little creatures
are accorded with enough intelligence
to care and love as a human teaches
with blessings of such brilliance

little ones snuggle up to the goodness
of teats now blessed for good reasons
mother and the broods in all readiness
the bid to survive being only human

  3. Human mothers spend more time with their children than other animals, teaching them to socialise and live their human lives. Cats, on the other hand, are independent at a young age and learn to walk by themselves. And now I’ve written that, my youngest rescue cat is hanging around, looking for cuddles from the only mum she’s ever known - me!

  5. I think survival is a natural instinct in living creatures. Humans spend a lot of time learning in the journey.
