Image: a sharp look (here)
(the picture prompt)
a sharp look that stabs you
where it hurts most
with no words uttered
it pricks at your conscience
you search yourself
what did I do wrong?
a pair of piercing eyes
ready to pounce on you
no two ways about it
you feel cornered!
the better option breathlessly
taken is to vamoose as fast
not to cross swords
with unreasonableness
it is being fair to oneself
to assess other choices open
so as to fight with added strength
for another day.

ReplyDeleteWise words here Hank, and yes those eyes stab sharply.
ReplyDeletePiercing dark eyes, you have captured the feeling well, It makes one wonder what he is thinking?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't decide whether it was a mean look, an angry glance, or that he was fearing something or someone. I didn't choose these.
ReplyDeleteBut you were fairly unique in leaving to avoid a quarrel.
Good job Hank!!
