a second home invariably is set at happy hours

the 11 of 12 given words:
family wait drunks hearts loud win
laugh animated eagles check bar

a second home invariably is set at happy hours
a family of strangers to start with but not for
long for it is not necessary to wait to make friends

contrary to contention and a belief that drunks
are unruly and found to be rowdy they are not

eat your hearts out for they are overly friendly
ready to help and even to part with their money

the wildness may be tempered down in a crowd
and loudness is not a virtue but instead they can
win over each other with just a few laughs

like animated eagles ready for a swoop
they check the options still very much in control
if they get to meet their heroes usually they do for
life-long friends do often begin at the long bar

  2. I don't know about life long friends but I certainly recall those heady days of bar camaraderie which are best remembered alone and kept from the wife!

  3. The joy of a bar can be the best of times, the bar can also be the worst of times.

  4. I echo Bjorns comment Hank.
Habitual drunks are a different matter from those you write of, they either are manipulative or easily manipulated, vulnerable or predatory.
The habitual drunk (in the bar) might appear friendly and funny there, but when he/she gets home, is often very different indeed...
    Kind regards

  8. Ha, i once knew a man enamored of the bars. His crew did seem to love the camaraderie.
