11 of 12 given words:
insane mad considering waking call
nameless make setting try similar devices
the 3WW given words:
lasting jabber knowingly
Midweek Motif: books
It is insane it is mad
Sacrilege considering the sacrifice
A waking hours' call
But who is counting?
Remaining nameless
Out to make a name for himself
Knowingly surrounded by books
That is the underlying engine of
progress to bolster the reading habit
Setting a target
To try and match a similar goal
as of the previous year
Left to their own devices
might jeopardise his good intentions
Creating a lasting impression
will mean less jabber
and less empty talk
Drawing up a bucket list of titles and authors
is of prime concern at this juncture

Finding the best of the best to try and get all the data isn't a bad way.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I can relate...
ReplyDeleteIt is insane it is mad
Sacrilege considering the sacrifice
...and the quest continues.
Well done Hank on a great "K" post. The given words well used making this a verse a pleasure to read.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
'Creating a lasting impression
ReplyDeletewill mean less jabber
and less empty talk' Exactly...i am amazed at your skill of
managing all those words of different prompts in a single poem..whew..
Less jaber is always good. Let's make our words count.
ReplyDeleteI am one who also draws up a bucket list of "must-reads". I find myself reading faster and faster, against the press of time. LOL. So many books still to read!
ReplyDeleteMy bucket list awaits a trip to the bookstore. E-books can never replace immersing one's self in corridors of books!
ReplyDeleteYes. Your poem just reminded me to look at my reading list. Sometimes, I do feel a self-imposed pressure to read and read more. Enjoyed your poem.
ReplyDeleteLess jabber and less empty talk...exactly! and more reading!
ReplyDeleteGreat K post.

Madly-in-Verse
Being 'surrounded by books' is really a positive thing. And indeed we need as many positives as we can find right now. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteOut to impress with this one. We have a great poem, goes without saying. Then you met 3 prompts! I bow to you
ReplyDeleteThree prompts! I am impressed. This is beautifully written, Hank.
ReplyDeleteAh yes...making that list is really difficult....beautifully conveyed!
ReplyDeleteHow sad it would be to have nothing left on your reading list.
ReplyDeleteI think the reading habit is always good, no matter how or why acquired.
ReplyDeleteThe way you use the words remind me of a dictionary in verse. Kudos, Hank.
ReplyDeleteRead Alan Brennert's MOLOKAI. You will not be disappointed!
ReplyDeleteAnd my book of course: "Aloha Where You Like Go?" FREE on kindle with Amazon Prime membership <3
I can't think of a better place to be than surrounded by books. Knowingly, of course!
ReplyDeleteI agree! If surrounded by worthy books: "less jabber
ReplyDeleteand less empty talk."
Wonderful, Hank! Sorry so late finally got some time to read on Easter.
ReplyDeletePrime concern indeed, Hank.
ReplyDeleteBooks deserve such attention!
