Questions, questions!

Of a drab rainy night
A weather unkind for wants
Lashed against all its might
Could it force itself out front?
One's head dashed reeling
Pulsating of spiral dreams
Compounded of acts troubling
Must it occur to extremes?
Frustrations turned for the worst
Tendrils entwined the mind's undone
Save the cause of strength first
Would they fall in place for once?
Written for 3WW with drab, pulsate and tendrils

ReplyDeleteI've had a few nights like that...
ReplyDeleteHate when my mind won't shut off and keeps spinning round and round, especially when it's abouth nothing and I just want to sleep.
ReplyDeletei have def had a few nights like that myself...when the brain would not shut off...i have to give it something to focus on if i ever want to get any sleep....
ReplyDeletewell put
ReplyDeleteI have to get up and read or write when this happens. If not, I will never release and sleep. Great imagery here, Hank.
ReplyDeleteYou, my friend, think too much, although I must admit I've had plenty of nights like that, too.
ReplyDeleteThe illustration of tendrils is perfect to describe what happens when thoughts grab us and won't let go.

It's a drab rainy night here tonight!
ReplyDeleteHere’s mine
I write poetry when this happens...the reason I am such a prolific writer in the monsoon ,king tides and big moons.
ReplyDeleteI use nights like that for introspection. Great post Hank.

Enjoy the rain, for it brings life.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the pulsating tendrils of drab water, for they have songs of love in them for you!!
I always enjoy your poetic feasts, Hank, thanks. xoxo
Why, thanks a lot Jannie! Feels great when you say that. It'll spur things on!

Yes, been there. But after a very dry month, rain was welcome.
ReplyDeleteCould I make a suggestion? Well, I will anyway. Why do you feel that you need to bold the three words? I find it makes the reading a little stilted. Just sayin'.
Didn't realize that Cosmo. Since these are the given words so I thought. I wonder if just italics are ok. I'll change them. I wonder if this would make them more friendly. Thanks a lot!

Yes, it does a bit. I take the view that my readers will just have to trust me to have used all the words, esp when doing a wordle, which can have 12-13 designated words.
Deletelet's hope so
