A rescue mission
Dangerous and uncertain
Both parties at risk
Awaiting rescue
Those not knowing nor aware
Of what transpired
With trepidation
Subdued while hoping, heart beats
soared and
wondering
Worst if no contacts
With hunger gnawing, stricken
plight in disarray
Rescuers often
Rescued in botched missions, but
Noble in resolve
Written for Leo’s Haiku Heights #206 with prompt - rescue -
thank goodness as well for those that go out and find others...and rescue them...putting their own lives in danger...
ReplyDeleteyeah thankfully some will brave the danger, just to help some little old stranger.
ReplyDeleteI've always admired the courage of those rescuers who put their own life in danger and save others. A very appropriate poem, Hank. :)
