back to their homes wondering,
What have I achieved?
Dusk transforms to a
darkened stupor to welcome
a night of conscience
They seek peace of night
with hopes they are blessed nearer
towards nirvana
Written for Leo's Haiku Heights #205 with prompt - dusk -
Nirvana - the ultimate destination ... wonderful poem !!!
ReplyDeletedusk like dawn is a magic moment on that journey as well...each day another step along the way....
ReplyDeleteWow, your writing has evolved! Really marvelous to see your poetry.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. Love the imagery and the closing stanza.
ReplyDeleteAll three have magic. I like the last best :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all of these - especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteI feel dusk has an altogether different kind of aura..

Getting closer can be such a state of mind, but fun getting there as well.
ReplyDeletewelcoming a night of conscience..seeking night's peace...wondering what they've achieved..well penned..
ReplyDeleteNice poem, Hank. Dusk is a slowing isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat would also equate with growing older. We played dominoes, Texas 42, last night with the old folk. Only two were younger than I was. The oldest was 87 and he was going strong.
There was a lot of reminiscing going on but we all stayed until midnight plus.
..
Ah yes, forever the "hope". Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLovely poem! I like the progression to nirvana!

ReplyDeleteAmazing series of Haiku, Hank! Something to ponder over. This is like the most: Dusk transforms ...a night of conscience
ReplyDeleteCheers!
A very different take on dusk. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThese are all three wonderful. I could especially relate to the first one. I often wonder what I have to show for the day.
ReplyDeleteI like the wondering end of the day. Thanks for the haiku.
ReplyDeleteAlice
you have captured this wonderful time of day so well..
ReplyDeleteamazing, introspection of the day went by is good, it gives you threads to hold on for the nest day and a clear vision of goal.
ReplyDeleteI loved the concept.
Perpetual Dusk
Very beautifully done.
