Looking from above
It tried to stay focused
The young had risen
The day's feed was due
Pandemonium! Hunger
was a driving force
Vacant looks sustained
It should change for the better
Midday was ideal
Flapped its wings, it swooped
down. Pair of prey its target
A mother's instinct
Written for 3WordWednesday with words vacant, focused and pair
Something majestic about them too and yeah instinct is sure to prtect and watch for threats coming due.

ReplyDeleteSuch fun fair
I'm amazed by the synchronicity in this world. Not too long ago I stood at my dining hall window watching a pair of hawks teaching, guiding their two youngsters to hunt. I watched for quite some time as the parents chased smaller birds toward the window, stunning them. Then they joined the young in a nearby mesquite tree, chiding until they floated to the patio to gather the smaller birds. We have similar interests!
ReplyDeletenice nature capture man...the instincts of the wild...kill to feed the family...teach the young to do the same....such regal birds..raptors....
ReplyDeleteThough I know all animals have their natural instincts, I always feel so very sorry for the prey! A fine write here, Hank.
ReplyDeleteLove how you pulled those words together for the triumph of natures beauty in action.
