Snugly in bed at
rest lulling himself to sleep
Sanctuary of sorts
Murky images
Suddenly encroached the scene
Tussled to be
heard
Good dreams in tatters
Consciousness in abeyance
Struggled to control
Succumbed to the force
Bad dreams manifest itself
Worry was the cause

oy, worry will def wreck your sleep and your dreams...and often the worry is unfounded as well...that is where the dark side of imagination creeps in...
ReplyDeleteHiya,
ReplyDeleteI reckon we all know the feeling: a good dream spoilt by interloping worries is such a downer :-)
I am impressed with your clutch of haiku.
very well said and so well captured in few words....
ReplyDeleteYeah worrying about all the crap from the day at night
ReplyDeleteIs surely a sleepless plight
Hate it
Lovely words ... deeply emotive !!!
ReplyDeleteWrangling with worrisome dreams...never as fun as it could be unless one has a poignant meaningful dream begging interpretation. Nicely done, Hank.
ReplyDeleteThe medication I take give me vivd dreams some not so good.
ReplyDeleteYour verse captured the mood.
Great read.
Yvonne.
Stress and worry....the bane of humans....ruins lots of the day straight into the night....
ReplyDeleteOh, what havoc stress can wreak with perfectly fine dreaming.
ReplyDeleteGreat images you have painted here with your lovely haiku Hank. Wonderful composed series.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
You've said so much in so few words... worry can rob us of rest as well as a good night's sleep... I hate those intruding images just as I'm seeking refuge...
ReplyDeleteWorry does it every time! Great set !
ReplyDeleteI agree worry can cause a lot of sleepless nights ~
ReplyDeleteGreat write--I am often up at night--I read and read-- you captured it so well!
ReplyDeleteI hate when worry seeps into our dreams~ OUR escape should have a trap door! You wrote this so well!
ReplyDeleteHank you did a great job~
I can get entire picture of sleep and dreams in this haiku.....Lovely work Hank!
ReplyDeleteThose worrisome thoughts and fears we take to bed with us are sure to unlock the door to nighttime demons. Fortunately for me, it usually means sleeplessness rather than nightmares. Probably a defense mechanism against the things you describe so well in your haiku.
ReplyDeleteThe upside of chronic fatigue is rarely having a sleepless night - the hard part is waking up, hee hee. So sorry, kiddo.
ReplyDeleteGreat set. You've NO need to worry about your creativity
ReplyDeleteWorry and bad dreams...lethal combination to sleep.
ReplyDeleteWell done. I can certainly relate.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful piece of work!!! Well done !!!
