For me, there's the juxtapositioning of the tiny bird heads, mouths open on some, clamoring for food, others sleepily nodding or being shoved by more aggressive ones....and then the idea of young kids hiding under the duvet covers as their mom says it's time to get up! At least, that's what I'm picturing -- and smiling.
This poem evokes so many reactions, just like the sleepy heads in the nest...
