reflections provide a release

                                                             Artist: Raja Ravi Varma (1848–1906)
Image: Imprisoned by debts
owing to society (here)

the 12 given Wordle words:
release, relief, end clasp grave regret,
thing, poor, pay debt day loan

reflections provide a release
looking towards a relief but to no end
to clasp dearly to memories
that bring smiles of good times

grave circumstances feature with regret
a thing of the past that keeps coming back
the poor being never able to recollect
to pay but only her debt to society intact

will there be a day her talents oozing
be extended on loan for the overall good
yet holding tenaciously back seemingly
saving for the rainy day as long as she could

  4. This was was a nice read, Hank I enjoyed most the last verse most, where she helped those in the verse before. It reminded me of the fellow we met in Key West, Florida. He would have the nice holiday homes when not occupied be shared by the hoards of homeless folk there.

  6. I can't help thinking of the mass incarceration issue we have in the US and how so much potential is being flushed away in the school to prison pipeline. For the poor, one small mistake can cost them years.

  7. Such an evocative opening through these words: "reflections provide a release/looking towards a relief but to no end".
A lovely read, Hank! Your storytelling is spot on like always. :-)
