in the light of affections

drained of spirits in wanting
to proceed with the discharge of
responsibility towards a delicate
little creature that appeared dead
amidst foul discharge
in a clogged drain

yet in the light of affections and
concern for a living thing little
did she realize it could be a novel
idea for the projected incline towards
ideas for a novel which had long
been a spirited project on hold

she mulled the denial of proceeds
to finance such a project but to hold on
to hopes with zest

she had done lots of writings of short
stories not green to say the least
and a green plumage could trigger off
such a venture

why not?

  1. Could, you never know, but yeah, likely no dough

  2. Definitely no dough but something that should be pursued anyway.

  5. Why not indeed?! It's interesting how you told an entire story with these remarks and also, the homograph wordplay works very well here. :-)

  6. This was amazing--I could almost hear those phrases building like chords through the poem.

  7. I really like how the end marks the beginning of the real adventure. Now I wonder what will happen after that "Why not?"

  12. I say she should go for it. We dont write for money, we write because we must. Where else would all the words go? smiles.
