a canopy of wild illusions

the 10 of 12 given words:
brother beneath skies voice lost
stump (to cause someone to be unable to understand)
tree willow unrest silver

oh brother! what was causing the commotion
seen in the confusion clamoring for an answer
beneath the skies a canopy of wild illusions
a voice lost and stumped into coils of bother

a solitary tree dancing furiously in the winds
unlike a willow giving way but standing bold
such was unrest invoked by a mysterious wailing
to succumb into inactivity of the winter's cold

a silver lining to counter the imposed cover
sought by folks as an option of a way out
pacing them to extend support of an alms-giver
to offer a respite to dispel the recurring doubt

  1. I love that canopy of wild illusion........and the tree dancing furiously in the wind. The trees outside my window have been dancing, too, as the first winds and rains of winter arrive. I am ready for indoor weather! The pleasures of books, candles, and movies.

  2. Succumb much shall do. I'd rather hibernate all the way through.

  3. Ah, I love the image of a solitary tree dancing and the unrest of a wailing wind. The inactivity can be so pleasant as well, with all the comforts found indoors. A very atmospheric write! :-)

That sounds like a tree with character...

  5. "unrest invoked by a mysterious wailing

I feel this, and wonder where to find the silver lining?

  6. Winter is like this as you never know what to expect. That silver lining is the hope that Spring cannot be far behind.

  7. My favourite stanza that would stand so well on its own:
'a solitary tree dancing furiously in the winds
unlike a willow giving way but standing bold
such was unrest invoked by a mysterious wailing
to succumb into inactivity of the winter's cold'.
