Image: Bright summer flowers at deserted beach (here)
Summer’s heat withdrew
Beaches hauntingly quiet
Feel of a letdown
Autumn winds crept in
Pleasant sight of brown and gold
seen transformed beneath

deserted beach
I like the season's transformation.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully put Hank, each season has it's own beauty.
ReplyDeleteNice when the heat withdraws
ReplyDeleteThere is a terrible sense of "letdown" when the beaches (and amusement parks, and camp sites, etc.) empty for the autumn. But this ends on a happy note with the lovely brown and gold :)
ReplyDeleteLovely series and so positive welcoming autumn's transformation.
ReplyDeleteAh ... it really is a letdown whe the beaches are abandoned, a strange feeling of melancholy can set in ... but it also can give me a feeling of serenity. Too bad the cold sets in though.
ReplyDeleteA pleasant letdown maybe?
ReplyDeleteThe transformations wrought by desertion can be profound.
