Bumper harvests from the fields

A sight of relief
Bumper harvests from the fields
Benefit to all

Late Autumn schedules
Smart animals show the way
Hoarding for winter

No hibernation
Just ‘squirreling’ food away
Breeze swept fields empty

  7. Great harvest poem. I live in the country and by me, harvest time means a lot of harvest trucks speeding back and forth down my road like maniacs. Every once in a while they hit and kill a cat or some poultry. But harvest time is a good time, anyway, when farmers find out if their hard work has paid off.

  9. We all need to squirrel away things for winter, I think...saving some of the bountiful harvest for the long winter.

  10. Great images that conjure up harvesting time very well. I suppose the canning season is the way we humans squirrel away.

  11. Many have to squirrel away food to live through the winter indeed. Harvesting can be interesting to watch, for a few minutes anyway.

  18. Hank,

It is pleasing to know that enough food has been stored away for the impending winter.Your Haiku style has captured the whole image so well.
