Courage is often
equated to swashbuckling
style and recklessness
Pushed beyond limits
Needs stimulus to perform
Not quite rational
When it is all said
and done,only then they ask
how did they do it
Written for Chev's haiku at CARPE DIEM #127 with prompt -courage-
Yeah the bigger the feat the more it is seen as courage, sometimes it does take more to simply walk away.
ReplyDeleteWonderful haibun ~ lots of wisdom ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteWhat you're saying, I think, is that courageous people don't set out to be courageous; courage comes to them in the course of action.
ReplyDeleteCourage
Yes. Sometimes you just do it.
ReplyDeleteGreatest generation
Ordinary people made great
By circumstances

ReplyDeletewisely said. courage isn't just about actions done in times of crisis... it could very well be the daily measures one takes to avoid such circumstances from occurring in the first place
ReplyDeleteProactive courage...I love it Hank.
ReplyDeleteCourage can be as monumental as that of a hero, or as simple as that of a chicken crossing the road....
ReplyDeleteVery wise take, and think you captured it so well in that first haiku of yours.
