Felt the despair turned in his belly
When he spied the green luscious plants
All in a row in an orderly fashion
but sadly 'on the other side'
where the grass was greener literally
What did he do wrong that they did right
It was akin to stalking a beautiful lady
Surreptitiously on the sly
Not knowing how she would react
When the moment came upon discovering
that there was an admirer following her tracks
It crossed his mind on how to correct the malady
If only he knew how as he kept eyeing the wonders
of succulent tomatoes, cabbages, and red chillies
where the grass was greener literally
What did he do wrong that they did right
It was akin to stalking a beautiful lady
Surreptitiously on the sly
Not knowing how she would react
When the moment came upon discovering
that there was an admirer following her tracks
It crossed his mind on how to correct the malady
If only he knew how as he kept eyeing the wonders
of succulent tomatoes, cabbages, and red chillies
to no end. It was a long ride to getting green fingers
Claudia's at d'Verse Poetics: Gardening
I mostly read and watch how to take of plants during the lockdown. I envy those who can grow succulent vegetables but it takes a lot of effort to mind them. It takes time to have those green fingers.
ReplyDeleteHa. You have to be careful in comparison, and thoughts the grass is always greener on the other side. We all have to find our way and we can watch as we develop our own skills and learn a lot from others.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Hank.
Garden envy! I love it. ☺️💕 It's very hard to grow vegetables so I stick with flowers.
ReplyDeleteOH I want those for my deck, container garden in my fantasy. Cheers, Hank.
ReplyDeletethe tomatoes seem always to be bigger and the grass greener on the other side...ha... gardening is quite an art.. i hope she was able to give you some helpful gardening hints once she found out that you spied on her..smiles
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile, Hank, especially the idea of gardener as stalker. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteA garden spy eh, Hank… 🙂
ReplyDeleteWell, good for the gardener for sticking at it! I didn't realise you could get green fingers with perseverance, but I believe this is true.
ReplyDeleteWhen the green eyed monster has a green thumb. Nice poem.
ReplyDeleteGuess some people have them and some dont. Green thumb i fall into the category dont. Only easy growing plants thrive for me. And i dare not do vegetables. Had my share of heartache with those
ReplyDeleteMuch💜love
The garden on the other side always seems so much better, but we never know what happens inside the neighbor's house... maybe there is a high price paid for the fancy exterior.
