A stairway was seen as a visual challenge
The way up would engage on many perspectives
Touching on lots of nerves way up to heaven
Audacity of back-stabbing even among cronies
Where one was perceived as a stumbling block
Targetted as easy meat by those ambitious elements
Walking dead could be the balance expected
Staying alive would draw on having good friends
A pretty face was envisaged as of good assets
Same-sex would hardly make a difference
Culture shock before but now readily accepted
At expense of fairness and human development
The stairway towards rightful achievements
Wound through a maze of winding permutations

I like that stairway towards rightful achievements, Hank. I hope people in government can find it soon.
ReplyDeleteSure a tough stairway to climb. There are many out there that one could consider back stabbers.
ReplyDeleteStairways are necessary to climb. Whatever, it is envisioned to be better "u[ there" than what the person has or had below. Similar to grass being greener on the other side.

Stairs are a good analogy for hard work for success doesn't come easy.
ReplyDeleteAn apt image and a philosophical poem, Hank! I love the alternative way of looking at stairs as a visual challenge, although at my age they are becoming a physical challenge, which I hope will lead towards rightful achievements!
ReplyDeleteStairways are a great metaphor of life and striving. Ever upwards and guard your back.
ReplyDeleteI love 'stairway of visual challenge' and climbing up toward 'rightful achievements.'
ReplyDeleteWe all stumble along the way, yet keep going. Great work, Hank!
