11 of 12 given words:
lonely vanquish before dawn glass wall city safeguard fly
malefactor (n.)) a person who violates the law who causes harm to another)
prevaricate (v.)) to speak falsely or misleadingly)
peccadillo (n)) a minor offence, a trifling fault)

a lonely figure not quite vanquished
but subdued found contemplating
on the beach alone

a ritual before dawn freely drawn
not confined within glass walls

sought solace outside city limits
accompanied only by a lighted globe

with safeguards compromised
open to dragons with fiery breath
ghosts with fangs and sneaky
malefactor elements who could
easily prevaricate to gain access

what peccadillo faults
contributed to this state of affairs
- to let fly caution to the winds
perhaps a jilted lover

  9. love this, lovely imaginative phrases, and with the photo, the lighted globe becomes the moon -- so I imagined a story as I read the poem, of a wizard casting a spell but his mind wanders at the crucial moment to his love troubles and whoops, his safeguards falter and oops, he captured the blood moon -- a fine pecadillo he's gotten into!
