why was he there right among books?

immersed in his own world
in one corner far from the crowd
realities of life spinning all in a whirl
in a way he was clothed in a shroud

why was he there right among books
the library barely opened minutes ago
his domain away from suspicious looks
known to be right there until time to go

surveying the ceiling for inspiration
often times left high and dry and empty
but when ideas did drop in abundance
tickled to realize a way to his sanctuary

  3. Nice description of the library as a sanctuary. He also hides in his daily routine.

  5. Books and the library that guard them are so good at creating safe havens, aren't they? I agree with Frank, great description.

  6. Very descriptive and magical. You imbued browsing and thinking with mystery and intrigue.

When an idea comes, one better catch it as fast as he can or it goes away quickly.

  8. A place that for me has always held a narrative of 'must do' rather than 'want to'

  9. Ah, the library is sanctuary to so many, myself included. Stories to be heard, mysteries to be solved, always an adventure!

I found sanctuary in libraries many times especially when I was a child. It offered so much solace to me in so many ways. Great one, Hank, it really spoke to me.
