Image: Frustrations at his Desk (here)
Sitting quietly lost in thoughts
Blank look traveling in space
Unperturbed to hankerings of the lot
Lips sealed spewing ideas in a rage
Cornering all resources unto himself
Who was he to be so selfish
Release your thoughts,your mind yourself
Others were waiting for them with relish
He could no longer hold on tight
Cut the cords that he did
Now his mind exploded bright
Working double quick time for his bid
Such the feelings an unshackled being
Released from writer's block sans tightening
Sudden surge of thoughts provoking
Finally mouth-watering and searching
For d"Verse's 3rd Anniversary - celebrating poets
i like being unshackled....having the freedom to express myself in verse...i think poetry as a vehicle allows you to express things that other writings dont...and then painting and visual arts def do in different ways....
ReplyDeleteI agree..poetry is the best literary expression of crystallised emotion.
DeleteAnd when the idea hits, it is an explosion.
ReplyDelete(Although I get excited to see sparklers.)
I really like this part: Sudden surge of thoughts provoking
ReplyDeleteI am so happy when I get this in writing as though thoughts and words come easily ~ Have a good week Hank ~
I think you just took us through the poetic process, Hank--in verse!
ReplyDeleteWhen it flows it sure flows
ReplyDeleteThe idea strikes and the match is sure lit, out things come
ReplyDeleteI like what Brian said.

ah it is good when those words flow again...and yes.. others are waiting for them to read what their fellow poets span...
ReplyDeleteAn interesting progression of the creative process.
ReplyDeleteYes, you tell it like it really is.
ReplyDeleteNice... I know how frustrating the writers' block can be. I have been sort of dealing with it since the beginning of this year. And that release we feel once the words surge out is wonderful. Well-penned. :-)

I love how we really have no control over the creative flow sometimes...it finds us, we don't find "it".
ReplyDeleteHow intriguing to link in the idea of selfish, the idea of mouth-watering--views of the waiting fans and/or devotees waiting for the latest supper served by their favorite chef. Very fine!
ReplyDeleteYou describe the end of writer's block so well. It is like finding freedom. You express some lovely thoughts here Hank.
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly! So lovely to let the muse out to dance!
ReplyDeleteI wish I didn't know how this felt. My blank look takes long journey through space. Glad you found your way back.
ReplyDeleteholding it all in can be quite overwhelming...even more so when the words refuse to settle in any logical (or even illogical) way. it definitely is nice when one can finally break through.
ReplyDeleteWriter's Block ... how I wish I knew to get rid of it :-/
ReplyDeleteKnowing others are coming to read helps us unlock those words...good one, Hank!
ReplyDeleteUnshackled is the way to go, Hank. I love this.
