and lays a world of secrets
Paths that twist
with mountains tall
and rivers wind
With compass, we set our course,
guided by its magnetic force.
It is more than ink and lines but
With compass, we set our course,
guided by its magnetic force.
It is more than ink and lines but
a promise of adventure ill-defined

Excellent. We just go where the words tell us to, sometimes. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think we need to read beyond the map to find adventures
ReplyDeleteHank, didn't you just love those road maps that we used to have!! We were in the need of one today, we wasted time on directions given the first time we stopped for some advice. The second worked really well.
ReplyDeleteI would loved to have had the neat ride that your writer had, sounds really good. If it was the mountain territory in your picture, driving there may be a challenge.
Liked the poem, deeper than the words themselves hold.
..
True, Hank! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThose are the adventures of the best kind! Nicely worded. I enjoyed your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI love the images and ideas this elicits.
ReplyDeleteThe promise of adventure in your poem made me think of George Harrison's song, "Any Road." Have you heard it?
